Mary A. Hake, a freelance writer and editor, serves as the president of Oregon Christian Writers, a Northwest writers’ organization she has been part of for 23 years.

Mary has worked as a freelance writer for more than 25 years. Her Creation curriculum was recently released by New Leaf Press. She has published hundreds of nonfiction articles, stories, poems, devotionals, puzzles, and other material for adult and children, and has contributed to more than ten books. She has also worked as a feature writer and reporter for a regional paper and two weekly newspapers. She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Mary’s editing work the last 12 years includes books, articles, newsletters, curricula, and other material. She has an Associate’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, and has served as a Christian educator teacher, homeschool advisor, church librarian, writing teacher, and chair of the Library Board in her community. Mary is available to speak for women’s groups, writer’s groups, homeschoolers, and children.

Married for 36 years to Ted, Mary is the mother of two grown daughters–whom she homeshooled for 10 years, and both of whom are now teachers.
